MOROSO GETS BOLD…

JUPITER, FL - Summer is over and that means that the Racing Season has begun at Moroso Motorsports Park, so Moroso is gearing up for its 13th Annual Extreme Performance Ford Power Festival this Saturday and Sunday October 13th and 14th.  The Ford Power Festival is presented by the Extreme Performance, Yankee Peddler, Steeda Autosports and Murray’s Speed and Custom.

     Moroso Motorsports Park will once again offer an tremendous weekend of exhilarating activities.  Included in the line-up are: Fire Breathing Jet Funny Cars, Jet Dragsters, Wheelstanders and the famous Steeda Stampede.  Other special features include the world famous Spearmint Rhino Bikini Contest brought to you by Club Safari as well as our huge Marketplace, Swap Meet, Car Corral and much more.

    Steeda Autosports will once again host their "Steeda Stampede" on Saturday, October 13, 2006.  The crew from Steeda will head up to Moroso in a police escorted convoy to enter in the Steeda Car Show on Saturday.  All Steeda vehicles are welcome. Steeda Stampede participants will also receive $5 off their general admission or Car Show entry to Moroso.  In conjunction Moroso Motorsports Park will host it’s first ever Mustang Show.   Come see the finest examples of the “Original Pony Car” as the Mustang owners proudly display and compete for trophies in over 15 categories, including “Best in Show.”

     While all this is going on the finest drivers from South Florida and around the nation will be racing down the Moroso Motorsports Park NHRA ¼ Mile Drag Strip.

     Quick 16, Super Pro, Pro, Pro Bike and Street Bike are just some of the Classes that will be tearing up the track Saturday.  The NHRDA Diesel Trucks will join in on the action as well.            

     In between drag racing, Jet Powered Funny Cars will provide explosive entertainment when they burn up the track.  “Fire Power”, driven by Chris Gould of Bowdoin, ME will burn up the track against Ken Marley and his “Rocky Mountain Thunder.”

     The heat and excitement doesn’t stop there.  Elaine Larsen and her “Embry-Riddle” 200 MPH Jet dragster goes head to head versus Dick Rosberg and his tribute to the Military “Thriller” Jet Dragster.

  Then the wild Wheelstanders of Danny O’Day and his ’34 Coupe “SuperWinch” races Billy Moffitt from Falls Church, VA and in the “Bottoms Up.” In a exhibition of two wheeled insanity.

     Sunday, Moroso Motorsports Park reloads for a 2nd day of excitement.

     In Moroso’s paddock the Show-n-Shine will have show classes allowing every model of new and old Fords to compete for five specialty awards, plus winner and runners-up in 27 classes with $500 cash going to the Best of Show winner.

     The race action intensifies at Moroso Motorsports Park as well Sunday as the racers return to compete for over $10,000 in purses.

     Keeping in mind that this is the Extreme Performance FORD POWER FESTIVAL there will be an ALL MUSTANG bracket race to crown the King of the “Stangs!”  Also joining in on the Sunday action will be the Heads-Up 6.50 class.  Super Pro, Pro, Pro Bike, Street Bike and the NHRDA Diesel Trucks return for another crack at the prize. Enjoy the future racing drag racing stars as the kids race for bragging rights in the Junior Dragsters.

    Then hold on as the Jet Funny Cars, Jet Dragsters and Wheelstanders return to thunder the Moroso Motorsports Park ¼ Mile Track.

As usual, all tickets include pit access, free parking and children 11 and under are FREE.  Advance discount tickets ($3 off) are available at Extreme Performance of Palm City.

Gates will open at 9AM

Mustang Show registration is open from 9AM until 3PM.

Mustang Show Awards are at 6PM

Time Trials starting at 10AM

Qualifying for Quick 16 will be at 1pm and 2pm with Eliminations starting at 3PM.

NHRDA Diesel Qualifying is at 12:30PM & 1:30PM.

Eliminations begin at 4PM

The Exhibition vehicles will be on track at 6:30PM and 8:30PM.

Steeda Awards will be presented at 5:30PM and The Mustang Show Awards at 6pm.

The Spearmint Rhino/Club Safari Bikini Contest will start at the main stage at 7:30PM.

Sunday, October 14th

Gates will open at 8:30AM

Car Show registration is open from 9AM until 1PM.

Car Show Awards are at 2:30PM

Time Trials starting at 9:30AM

Mustang Qualifying is at 10Am & 11AM

Jr. Dragsters Qualify at 10:30AM & 11:30AM

Heads-Up 6.50 Qualifying is at 11:AM & 12:30PM

NHRDA Diesel Qualifying is at 12:00 Noon & 1PM.

Eliminations begin at 2PM

The Exhibition vehicles will be on track at 1:30PM and 4PM.

Spectator tickets are $20 per day or $40 for a two-day special.
